Pouring a Concrete Floor 12 Feet Up!

Have you ever wondered how to pour a concrete floor 12 feet above you?

Step 1: build the wood forms (supported from below), and cover with plastic

Step 2: place rebar steel reinforcement, route conduit for electrical wiring, and put plumbing in place.

Step 3: Get organized for the pour: The gas-powered concrete mixer is delivered along with component parts of the concrete including sand, and gravel and this “wall” of bags of cement.  Build the rope & pulley manual lift to get the mixed concrete to the upper floor.

Step 4: Get a good night’s sleep before the concrete pour – For adequate strength, the concrete must be mixed and poured from start to finish without stopping – in this case it was a 17-hour continuous pour.  Turn up your sound for a more realistic effect.
